So, OnePlus are up to something. We know that they, “Never Settle”, but of late they’ve been building some brilliant-but-expensive phones. The OnePlus 8 and the OnePlus 8 Pro are undeniably amazing but you do have to have some deep pockets if you want the Pro version and the Wireless Warp Charger. $1000 phones are just kinda decreasing in sales. Consumers don’t really know what’s going on between the different model iterations. Companies are just putting out new smartphones for the sake of it. A lot of people just want a phone that works, and works really well.
That leads us to the new OnePlus phone. We’ve seen the more aggressively-priced £300-£400 phones performing really well and ticking a lot of the boxes that people want. There’s no need to spend £1000 any more. Your additional cash usually just gets a slightly better set of cameras.
Here, OnePlus are going to make a phone costing less than $500.
The new phone is being created and brought to market in just 6 months, in the middle of a pandemic. A bit bonkers, I’m sure you’ll agree, but today they’ve given us a first look into their new lower-priced phone, which gets given a name – the OnePlus Nord.
