LockSmart and LockSmart Mini – Review

Back in March at Gadget Show live, I met up with the guys from Dog & Bone, who had an array of convenient accessories for those who like adventure and technology. Well, the lovely people at Dog & Bone sent us two of their Bluetooth locks, namely LockSmart and LockSmart Mini (which you will find I call BIG BLUE in the video!). Two very strong locks which offer more than a modern keyless locking system.

How the locks work is from an application on your phone which is paired with the locks individually and you have control on how they are authenticated. The locks can be opened using the application directly, passcode or fingerprint scanner. Strangely the fingerprint scanner feature did not work on my OnePlus Two! Inviting others is pretty nifty too, you can send personal invites to others for one-time user up to infinite use. So if someone wants to get into the shed while you are away, you can send them an invite for a one-off unlocking.

Another cool feature is the ability to check where the lock is, more useful on luggage as oppose to your garden shed! This is dependent on the lock having some power and being able to ping the server. There is a community feature which means other LockSmart users can aid the whereabouts of your lock and luggage too.

The end results, cool product and very solid.
