However, there’s a bigger unit. A mothership if you will. OTONE call it an “intergalactic Soundship” and again there’s FM radio, wireless connectivity and a removable dock.
This bigger, more powerful version, has an alarm and extra “boom” power thanks to the twin 2” high-efficiency full-range drivers and 3″ long-excursion subwoofers. No, I don’t fully understand what it means, but as long as it rattles my windows, I’m a happy bunny. The connectors to charge your device include the lightening connector, 30 pin Apple connector and micro USB connector.
OTONE AUDIO RAIDS DOCKING MARKET WITH LAUNCH OF SOUNDSHIP
OTONE Audio is set to continue its push into the speaker dock market with the launch of the intergalactic Soundship Bluetooth Smart dock.
Boasting wireless connectivity, a removable dock, FM Radio and alarm, OTONE’s Soundship is the complete sound system, perfect for adding extra boom in the bedroom and a must-have addition for any home.
The Soundships’s futuristic design combines sleek curves and a smooth interface to give the system shelf appeal that’s out of this world.
Equipped to endure the ever-changing market, the system’s interchangeable lightening, 30 pin and micro USB connectors mean it’s compatible with most Apple and Android smartphones and tablets. The Soundship’s Bluetooth functionality takes care of the rest – so whatever device you have, you’re covered.
Connecting to the device is quick and simple too, just scroll through Soundship’s five play modes using its compact remote control – you’ll barely have to lift a finger.
Weighing in at a robust 3.5kg and measuring 230x500x150mm, the Soundship also packs an impressive audible punch via its twin 2” high-efficiency full-range drivers and 3″ long-excursion subwoofer, blasting out a Total RMS Power of 45W.
With intense sound, original design and a competitive price point of just £179.99, demand for the Soundship is already high, with pre-orders now being taken from OTONE’s website: www.otoneaudio.co.uk.
OTONE Audio first invaded the docking market earlier this year with the launch of Soundship Micro. Compared to the mother ship, the micro dock is a much smaller, portable vessel, sharing the Soundships’s futuristic design and Bluetooth functionality.
Speaking about its expansion into the docking station market, OTONE Audio’s managing director, Gareth Thomas, said:
“With smartphones and tablets continuously changing and new innovations being launched each month, we set out to design a Bluetooth docking system that could future-proof against the impact of the ever changing mobile market.
“We have achieved this by offering the consumer interchangeable connectors, so even if a new platform is released, the customer can simply buy a new connector rather than replacing the speaker. It seems even though consumers prefer to stream their music wirelessly, they still want to have the option to charge their device when the battery gets low without interrupting playback.
“The product has received a lot of interest and a high number of pre-orders have been taken since the product was previewed at Gadget Show Live 2013.”
The Soundship is the latest in a line of product launches for the brand, following the successful launch of the Sonora AV-Lance soundbar earlier this year.
