EE nails the RootMetrics scores again, but Three 5G speeds are mad crazy

After driving over 22,000 miles, performing over 537,000 tests in 750 places, the RootMetrics results are in.

EE has been named the number one network for 5G in the UK and the UK’s best network for the seventh year running.

The network launched their 5G network in May last year and are proud of their coverage – more than double the next placed operator.

Marc Allera, CEO of BT’s Consumer business, told us…

Delivering the best mobile experience for our customers has never been more important. Being recognised as the UK’s best network for the seventh year running reflects our continued investment in keeping our customers connected to the things that matter most. RootMetrics’ 5G testing shows that we are a long way ahead in terms of 5G performance, and our engineers are continuing to build new sites every day to bring the latest mobile technology to even more people.

The 5G speeds on EE were measured by RootMetrics, who found download speeds of at least 103.9 Mbps in all 16 cities. However, although other networks might be further behind in their 5G rollouts, there were some interesting speed difference. Three, who’ve managed to bag a continuous and large slice of the 5G frequencies, got the fastest median 5G speed – 193.7 Mbps. They also got the fastest 5G download speed overall – 478.1 Mbps in Liverpool.
