Live – Hands-on pics with the new Huawei Mate 30 and the Mate 30 Pro

Following our earlier details we can now bring you a whole album of up-close hands-on shots of the Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro. We’ve decided to get away from the rather squashed demonstration area, and managed to get one outside in the Autumnal sunshine.

As we’re currently running around Munich, we’ve taken the decision to put the images up as quickly as possible.

Here you can see a great view of that 4-lens camera setup. The blue finish definitely gets the thumbs up from up us..

This was taken in the daylight and, as you can see, the screen was clearly visible. The notch at the top took around half the screen but those rather clever curved edges were lovely to feel and they enabled you to adjust the volume too – no need for additional buttons.

USB-C charging on the bottom, along with the external speaker and SIM tray. Checkout those rolled edges.

On this shot you can again see those smooth, clear wrap-around edges. This is one powerful but also good-looking smartphone.

No Google apps were present on the phone and we had no real mention of it during the press announcement.

One very neat trick was a clever bit of artificial intelligence that watches your eyes and rotates the display as you move.
