Nubia – Dual-screen smartphone? Look over here!

With LG teasing a dual-screen V60 ThinQ at IFA, the guys at Nubia want you to remember the fact that they’ve already shown one off. The Nubia X appeared at CES, but now they’re bringing that same dual-screen technology to the new Nubia Z20, and it’ll be available next month too.

There’s no notch, no flip cameras or holes in the screen, instead the Z20 has a 5.1″ rear display on the back of the device to supplement the front bezel-less 6.42″ Full HD+ unit. Basically, a screen on the front and one on the back. This means you can snap photos or videos using the “rear” triple camera setup. The three lenses are a 48 megapixel main unit with OIS, a 16 megapixel ultra-wide camera (122.2° field of view) and an 8 megapixel telephoto camera which comes with a 3x optical zoom. There’s 8K ultra-high definition and 1920fps super slow motion plus HDR10 video recording. You can also switch to the advanced Pro Mode or Super Night Mode for the best quality shot possible.

Specs on this one are definitely up there, with up to 8GB RAM and 512GB storage, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus CPU, UFS 3.0 storage and a 4000mAh battery + up to 27W PD fast charging.

Going on sale in China on August 16th, a launch in the USA, Canada, EU and the UK is set for September.

That additional screen setup is very trick – you can choose to have each screen operate independently or they can work together, and that rear screen also doubles as an always-on display. The rear screen can also be mapped as triggers for gaming.

No exact pricing on this one, but it certainly looks lust-worthy 🙂
