Vodafone 5G network – growing already.

I spent 16 long years of my life working in Stoke-on-Trent. It was definitely an experience. They love their tea and say things like, “I’m goin’ shop Duck” or “You wanna brew Duck?”

Then there’s oatcakes.. oh my days, I could tell you about the oatcakes. You have to got to Stoke just for a proper oatcake. None of those mass-produced ones in a supermarket – a proper oatcake with sausage, beans, bacon and some black pudding inside. Perfect.

Where was I?

Oh yes, so .. if you’re in Stoke and you’re polishing off an oatcake, you can now get 5G speeds on Vodafone. They’ve just enabled the technology so if you have a compatible phone, you can browse at super-fast speeds. Currently it’s just around the Shelton area (as you can see in the map here), but it’s a start and you can keep an eye on their Vodafone network status checker for updates.

That’s not all though, because Birkenhead, Bolton, Gatwick, Lancaster, Newbury, Plymouth and Wolverhampton are now live too. They join Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Glasgow, Manchester, Liverpool and London, which all went live with 5G on July 3rd.

Vodafone is also widening its 5G roaming footprint today by adding 20 towns and cities across Germany to the 35 places already on the 5G European roaming network, which will go live soon.

The network has recently announced a selection of unlimited data plans for you to choose from, so you don’t have to worry about busting any limits.
