The Nokia 5.1 comes back to the UK

Four years ago I was writing about the end of Nokia and how much I remembered my trust Nokia 5.1. I always called it the 5.1, but it was also known as the Nokia 2110 and it’s something I wrote about again just a month ago.

Now, for just £189.99, you can get the all-new Nokia 5.1 from Carphone Warehouse, Argos, Amazon and others. It’ll be available with 2GB RAM, 16GB storage (plus a microSD expansion) and you can choose between either black or blue. It’s available online already and you’ll start seeing it in stores such as John Lewis from Wednesday.

Under the hood it’s got Android Oreo 8.0, a 2970mAh battery, NFC, 4G, dual-band, WiFi,16 megapixel rear camera, 8 megapixel front and an octa-core Mediatek (4×2.0 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4×1.2 GHz Cortex-A53) CPU.

Built with an aluminium unibody, it has a 5.5″ 1080 x 2160 pixels 18:9 screen.

Sarah Edge, General Manager, UK and Ireland, HMD Global, told us…

For many people in the UK their smartphone is the first thing they look at in the morning and the last thing they put down in the evening. No matter how much you want to spend on your smartphone, we believe that you deserve to have a reliable device that looks amazing and performs smoothly. We received great feedback from our fans in the UK about the Nokia 5 so we’re confident the new and improved edition will be a big hit.
