Official. The Honor 9 Lite.

A new phone, with an extremely attractive pricepoint, has just been announced in London by Honor. It’ll cost, get this, just £199.99.

Why is that a big deal? Because it’s got 4 cameras? Because it’s got the nano-scale optical coating? Because of the high-end glass casing? The 5.65″ 1080 x 2160 18:9 ratio screen? The fact that Android 8.0 is on board? The HiSilicon Kirin 659 octa-core (4×2.36 GHz Cortex-A53 plus 4×1.7 GHz Cortex-A53) CPU? Perhaps it’s the Bluetooth 4.2, the fingerprint sensor, the WiFi, the 32GB on-board storage, the 3GB RAM, the GPS?

No. It’s the fact that you get all of that together in one handset, for £199.99.

I don’t know about you, but whacking all that into a sexy-looking phone for less than £200? That’s really rather good.

Here’s our earlier story about this new smartphone, which features a 13 megapixel and 2 megapixel dual-camera arrangement on each side of the phone. You’ll be able to get it later today from places like Amazon, Argos, Very, AO.com and John Lewis. Yes, it still uses a microUSB port, but we can forgive them on that. We’re hearing, from a very reliable source, that this has NFC too, so you’ll get Android Pay t’boot.

Go out and buy this thing. I’ve not even reviewed it. Buy it. Buy the thing right now.
