Join the Honor livestream – 11AM! Here’s what you’ll probably see..

So, while Gears is having a lie down and a few drinks, we’re here to point you to the live coverage of the #NewHonorSmartphone.

What do we know so far? Well, it’s Born for Speed, with a fast CPU and.. you can play a game on their website while you’re waiting for the live Facebook stream to start at 11AM (noon CET).

We’re guessing that this is the UK launch of the Honor 9 Lite, a handset with a Kirin 659 octa-core processor (4x Cortex-A53 @ 2.36GHz and 4x Cortex-A53 @ 1.70GHz), 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage (plus a microSD card), a 5.65″ 2160×1080 18:9 screen (which yes, that’s actually better than the existing Honor 9) and a 3000mAh battery.

Word is that this will have a dual camera arrangement both front and back – a 13 megapixel rear shooter and 2 megapixel setup on both sides. This “quad-camera” system means that the smaller 2 megapixel sensor grabs depth information for better bokeh effects.

It’s worth pointing out that the CPU is the same as the one powering the Honor 7X (similar camera arrangement too) and it has the microUSB port again. Other specs will include WiFi, GPS, a fingerprint sensor and it’ll get Android 8.0 out of the box with EMUI 8.0.

Perhaps the biggest selling point will be the price. We’ve heard that it’ll go for just £199 / €229.
