There’s a bit of a story to this one. Just a few weeks back I jokingly poked a bit of fun at an email we’d received from the lovely, lovely people at Nokia PR. Basically it was a brief email with a picture of a Nokia 8 in a Christmas stoking and I decided to be all “funny” and play on it a bit. That, it turns out, went down like a lead balloon.
As it’s nearly Christmas, and to go some way to apologise, I’d like to point out a number of Nokia 8 deals that are available. The phone, which you can read all about in our earlier story, is 7.9mm thick and runs Android 7.1.1. Inside there’s a super-quick Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core CPU (4 2.5GHz and 4 1.8GHz Kryo) plus 4GB of RAM.
Inside you also get Bluetooth 5.0, NFC (for your contactless payments), WiFi, 4G connectivity and 64GB of on-board storage with a microSD slot for even more. Other bits? Well, there’s a real 3.5mm audio port, 3 microphones to do that clever noise cancelling business and there’s a rather nice 5.3″ IPS QHD (2560 x 1440) screen which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
It’s charged via a USB Type C and there’s a 3090mAh battery powering the show. It’s also splashproof. Basically, all in all, a top-end phone.
