CES – HTC Desire 320 seems to be a Desire 310 with a smidge more onboard storage

It really doesn’t seem that long since the HTC Desire 310 was revealed to the world. Now here’s the successor, the HTC Desire 320, which will be available “soon” in the UK. It’s an entry-level smartphone designed to get you hooked into this wonderous gadgety world and hopefully on the road to buying more HTC smartphones.

It seems to have the same screen as the previous model (4.5″ FWVGA), the same CPU (1.3GHz quad-core), the same RAM (1GB) but a tad more on-board storage (8GB instead of 4GB) along with the familiar microSD card slot. It looks like the same 5 megapixel rear shooter is present again, although we’re trying to get confirmation on whether this is an auto-focus unit rather than the fixed-focus one on the Desire 310. A VGA cam sits up-front.

Powered by Android 4.4 (KitKat), it also has HTC BlinkFeed with video highlights, FM radio, a 2100mAh battery (12 hours talk time), WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, 3.5mm audio jack but no 4G unfortunately.

Although there’s a bit more on-board storage and the very same CPU as there was in the Desire 310, Peter Frølund, UK and Nordics General Manager at HTC, told us..

Following on from the success of the HTC Desire 310, it boasts enhanced power and memory to enable more people to benefit from a quality smartphone experience that delivers the perfect balance between smart essentials and value.

Enhanced power, we assume, must mean the slightly bigger battery – 2100mAh instead of 2000mAh.
