The LG G3 S – Hands on

What’s the “S” for? Supercharged? Superfast? Well, if you read our LG G3 review but wanted the device to be just a tad smaller, the LG G3S is probably the device for you. As is the tradition now, a “mini” version of the flagship is now in stores so we decided to snap some up-close images for you.

The LG G3 S compares well to its bigger brother, having the same looks and rear button assembly.

Inside you won’t find the G3 2.5GHz quad-core CPU, instead there is 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor. It’s quad core but not quite as powerful as the bigger version.

The screen on the G3 S is just a tad smaller at 5″ compared to the 5.5″ unit on the G3, although here you get a HD 1280×720 screen instead of the quad HD 2560×1440 unit from the G3. The G3 S also only comes with 8GB storage although you do still get a microSD card slot for up to 64GB extra.

The usual WiFi, GPS, 4G, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC is here but no IR blaster.

Other things to note, if you do decide to get this instead of the G3, is the fact that it had an 8 megapixel rear shooter instead of the 13 megapixel one, although the laser focus system is still here.

You can get this on Pay & Go with O2 for £239.99 or on contract for a mere £23 per month. Head to their website for the details if you’re interested.
