Samsung Galaxy S5 mini announced

Samsung Galaxy S5 mini announced
As expected, a smaller version of the Samsung Galaxy S5 has been announced today. It features a 4.5″ HD (720×1280) pixel Super AMOLED screen and a quad core 1.4GHz CPU with Android KitKat, so it’s no slouch.

Around back there’s an 8 megapixel camera with autofocus and a flash, and up front a 2.1 megapixel unit. The mini is water and dust resistant to IP67 and there’s the power saving and kids / private mode too. You can also expect WiFi. NFC, Bluetooth 4/0, GPS, an IR blaster, accelerometer, digital compass, gyro, proximity and yes – the fingerprint / heart rate sensor is here too.

Packed with 1.5GB RAM and 16GB internal memory you also get a microSD Slot for up to 64GB of additional space.

The device will be available in four colours – black, white, “Electric Blue” and “Copper Gold”. We don’t have any news on pricing or availability but Samsung UK tell us that this will come in “due course”.
