Last week we told you that a Nokia spokesperson said there would be a BBC iPlayer app for Windows Phone 7 but now Pocket-Lint have the following quote from the BBC..
We are always looking at new and existing platforms to bring BBC iPlayer to, but have no plans to launch a BBC iPlayer native app in Windows Phone Marketplace in the immediate future.
So either plans have changed in the short time between the 2 quotes, or the Nokia spokesperson was mistaken. It seems bizarre that the iPlayer is available on iOS, Android and Blackberry, but not Windows Phone 7. Hopefully the feedback from users will help the BBC realise they are missing out.

Translation = Its not popular enough, so we won’t see the benefit of making it worth spending a chunk of the licence fee on converting it.
Basically unless WP starts shifting a hell of a lot more handsets in the near future it ain’t gonna happen.
