Samsung Galaxy SIII – Photo special

Samsung Galaxy SIII Photo specialYou definitely get the sense that the S3 isn’t just about specs. There’s more to it than that – there’s an intelligence, a feeling that you have a little “pal” in your pocket that’ll try and help you out when it can. Specs include that gorgeous 4.8″ HD Super AMOLED screen at 1280×720, an 8 megapixel rapid-fire rear camera and a 1.9 megapixel rear shooter. There’s zero shutter lag on both of these when we tested and the images, as we’ve come to expect from Samsung, were rather brilliant.

It has a “pebble” feel and there’s curvy looks. GPS / GLONASS, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, 16 or 32GB user memory (plus a 64GB version on the way) AND they’ve managed to fit a microSD card in too. There’s a 2100 mAh battery, all the usual sensors and it’ll come with Android 4.0 out of the box. Oh, and dare we forget the rather rapid 1.4GHz quad-core CPU which keeps things nipping along with incredible ease.

But inside, inside is where the special “juice” is. The phone is intelligent enough to know who your friends are when you take their picture. It’ll “tag” them and offer to share their picture on MMS or via a social network. You’ll also find that the S3 will automatically dial the person you’re texting if you fail to finish a text and hold it to your ear. Clever stuff.

The dual-screen DLNA experience worked well and the voice-recognition Siri-competitior known as “S Voice” worked rather well and displayed our appointments when we merely said, “what’s happening tomorrow”.

We’re getting some hands-on video for you but for now, enjoy these up-close photos..
