Maybe you should try this, the new Android tablet from Inspiration Works. Named the “Kurio” this is on display at the Toys and Games Fair in Hong Kong so you can probably expect it to arrive here in July.
Tablets aimed at children are already out there, and we’ve already covered the Leapster LeapPad, but that wasn’t powered by Android.
This one, as you can see from the picture, allows apps to be installed from the Market but there’s inbuilt protection to stop your kids downloading or seeing something they shouldn’t. Eight profiles can be added and you can add a time limit to stop your children getting constantly attached to the thing.
The tablet itself has a thick rubber shell and a safe sound volume. It looks set to arrive in a matter of months and will be priced at £150 for the 7″ 800×480 unit, £180 for the 8″ 800×600 version and £200 for a 9.7″ 1024×600 pixel version – all will have a capacitive screen.
Reg Hardware quotes a 6 hour battery life (with WiFi off). They’ll ship initially with Gingerbread but will receive Ice Cream Sandwich shortly after.

Hmm. It doesn’t matter haw garish (green!) it looks, this is a (android) computer – look at the installed apps! This isn’t something to give your kids to play with; with internet (wi-fi) as well, the parents should keep an eye on kids’ use of this at all times!
