Updated….Apple blocks Samsung from selling 10″ Tab in Europe.

Ok, the title isn’t exactly right, but there isn’t room to put the detail!

Updated....Apple blocks Samsung from selling 10 Tab in Europe.

According to BGR Apple have won a preliminary injunction in Germany that could effectively block the sales of the Galaxy Tab in all Euro union countries except Holland where there is a similar case ongoing.

Samsung could be liable for payments of $350,000 for each violation (Yeah, I’m sure that would happen!) Samsung will of course appeal this, whether an appeal will lift the ban I don’t know, but I do know it’s jolly annoying if you had your eye on grabbing a SG Tab 10.1″ !

I’ve been deliberately vague as I’m not sure of the ins and outs of this or even how much truth there is in all this, please don’t lynch me if it’s not correct, but I thought it was an important item.

Now, I’m taking this with a pinch of salt personally, I can’t see this actually coming into full effect, but it does make my blood boil! All this ridiculous legal action about patents is not doing us the customer any good at all, I mean, when was the last time Apple actually bought something innovative to the table? (Please don’t start a flame war in the comments!)

Edit:

The guys at Androidcommunity have caught up with Samsung  who have  issued a statement regarding this and it’s rather surprising!

I’ve pasted the Samsung quote below from android community:

Now, I’m no lawyer, but if that quote is correct it’s frankly beggars believe, how on earth can you ban a product for sale if the company in question isn’t aware of the injunction being filed?
