Still using a Hero and Android 1.5? Chances are you’re with Three and they’d like to apologise for the delay in providing the Android 2.1 update. Following a truck-load of negative comments in their blog the network released a statement stating..

Thanks for all your patience regarding the 2.1 update for HTC Hero. We have now tested and approved the software and this has been submitted to Google to get the final go-ahead. We’re hoping that they can push this through as quickly as possible, but we’re not clear on the timescales for this yet.”
They’ve apologised once again and say that ..
“
We’re a smaller network than some of our competitors, and while that has its advantages it also means that our testing team doesn’t have limitless resources.”
Some HTC Hero owners on Three have already got the update as they were sold unbranded units, however it seems that there’s still a large proportion out there stuck on 1.5.
