Late last week the Commercial Times reported that Sony Ericsson was sending orders to HTC for a Windows Mobile handset. Apparently a new Smartphone will appear in the latter half of 2008 with an estimated one million handsets being produced.
HTC have given their version of events on this page by stating that the news has been “estimated by the reporter”. That’s not a flat denial, so it could indeed happen and it could mean that 10 to 20% of HTC’s 2008 shipments are for Sony Ericsson.
