Windows Vista

Windows Vista A little off-topic, but worth mentioning this. The Microsoft code-named “Windows Longhorn”, which is the next generation of Windows on your PC – has been given a name today. It’ll be called “Windows Vista” and will start appearing as a Beta in a few days time. It’s scheduled to launch in the second half of 2006.

Believe it or not, it’s been a whacking five years since Windows XP launched, which is the longest time lag between releases of Windows. Microsoft say the new system enhances security, graphics and computing over the Web.

A video of the launch can be found here at Microsoft.com which features the Orange SPV C500 / AudioVox SMT 5600 doing.. something..

… plus there’s lot of people clapping and stuff, plus shots of Windows Vista (how long before we start saying, “Hasta La Vista”) in action.
