BQ to sell the Ubuntu Phone tomorrow

BQ are the company who are going to be making the eagerly awaited Ubuntu Phone and they’ve tweeted out this morning that they’ll be selling a limited number tomorrow between 9am and 6pm (CET which means 8am-5pm for us in the UK).

If you’re interested I’d suggest hitting their website early, as quite a few people seem to be gearing up for ordering one. At the moment that page just displays the product information and the price of €169.90 which according to Google is about £125.98. But you’ll need to factor in delivery, maybe some additional accessories like cases, screen protectors or memory cards. Import tax might also be an issue worth considering, although if they ship from within the EU to the UK you might just be ok. I’ve ordered from companies like Oppo Style and Merrimobiles who have European stock in Europe and I’ve not been charged import tax. Just a heads up that all.

The phone itself is pretty basic, so don’t expect much. It’s just the first easily available phone running Ubuntu for phones. More info can be found on the BQreaders website.
