Alcatel announce 4 new phones

Alcatel announced 2 new phones today each with 2 versions so you have a 4G and a 3G option available of both the Idol 2 and Idol 2 Mini

First of all is the larger Idol 2 device which the 3G version includes a 5 inch qHD display, Quad-Core 1.3Ghz processor, HSPA+21 connectivity, an 8 megapixel back camera with 2 megapixel front, NFC and the option in certain markets for a dual-sim version and runs Android 4.2.2 with 4.4 coming shortly as an OTA update.

The Idol 2S is the same screen, slightly reduced 1.2Ghz Quad-Core processor but boosts connectivity with LTE Cat4 speed, the same cameras as the Idol 2 and comes in a single sim only version running Android 4.3, but again 4.4 will be available as an OTA update.

Then comes the Idol Mini 2 which has a 4,5 inch qHD display, 8 megapixel camera on the back with a 2 megapixel camera on the front, DC-HSPA for 42Mbps data speeds, a 1.2Ghz Quad-Core processor, an option of dual sim if your market supports it and is only 7.9mm thin.

The Idol 2 Mini S has the same screen, the same cameras, the same processor, upgrades data to LTE Cat 4, is 8.5mm thin and whilst it lacks the dual-sim option it does have NFC.
