New Twitter apps arrive on Android and iPhone

Twitter look to be giving their site a new look at the moment so it’s good to see that both the iPhone and Android apps have had a facelift too. The new look is clean, fresh and simplistic. Everything is now easier to use and it’s better at tracking conversations.

There’s four main tabs – Home, Connect, Discover and “Me”. Connect lets you follow through those mentions and retweets, Discover lets you see the latest trending topics and the “Me” tab views your profile, drafts, lists and saved searches.

    As a light user I have always used the official Twitter app but was thinking about switching as I seem to be spending more time on it. Don’t think I will now – this new design is much faster and I really like the onscreen replies and less fluff. Added bonus is that it makes sense to keep the same UI as on my laptop – makes it easier to swap between the two.
