Sync with DoubleTwist

Sync with DoubleTwist I’ve only just stumbled across this app and I wish I’d found it earlier. It’s billed as “iTunes for Android” but, if I’m honest, it’s not. Why? Well, it’s not slowing down my PC for a start. Everything else though is true, it’s a slick PC or Mac-based application with pretty much all the functionality you’ve seen in the iTunes system. Android is great, but getting music and video onto your phone can be a bit of a faff – copying MP3’s, converting videos and so on.

Download, install DoubleTwist and plug your Android device into your machine. You can browse the Android Market (here’s a taster), look through Podcasts, check out the Amazon MP3 music store, manage your library (pictures, videos, music etc) and everything just.. works. There’s a doubleTwist Player which sits on your Android phone for a completely seemless experience. It’ll import your iTunes playlists, ratings and playcounts plus you can play audio and video. Podcast subscriptions are supported and videos are converted to work on your phone.

Take a look at the video on their website for a demo or give it a spin yourself. We’re also interested in hearing from you if you’re using it already.
