Krono is built around a Carta 1200 ePaper display that delivers 300 PPI clarity for crisp text and comfortable long-form reading. Advanced AG etching balances transparency and anti-glare performance, ensuring visibility in bright or low light. A tuneable front light adapts to the environment, while the octa-core processor, 6GB RAM and 128GB storage provide smooth performance across reading apps, writing tools and productivity workflows. A 3950mAh battery supports extended use throughout the day.
The device features a slim, smartphone-sized body with a 16:9 aspect ratio, clean lines and a matte finish. The signature Axis on the rear provides a subtle breathing light, while the ergonomic Smart Dial offers tactile navigation for page turning, scrolling, brightness control and instant access to Spark, Krono’s idea capture tool. Widgets and customizable lock screens allow users to personalise the device while maintaining a minimalist aesthetic.
Krono’s native software tools are designed to support conscious, distraction-free thinking. Spark acts as an idea vault, allowing users to long-press the Smart Dial to record voice notes which are transcribed and summarised using AI. Users can switch to text mode for drafting or refining prose. Libby AI, accessible from the home screen or via a double-press of the Smart Dial, provides instant answers, news summaries or creative prompts. A built-in Music function offers ambient soundscapes, white noise and lo-fi audio for focus or relaxation. With full Google Play Store access, users can add meditation apps, cloud drives, reading platforms and more.
DuRoBo has continued to refine Krono with a steady cadence of meaningful software updates. Software Update 1.2 introduces a native browser app for direct web access, desktop customisation with pinned apps, and full Korean language support across the system and within Spark transcription, joining Chinese and Japanese. The Smart Dial now brings smooth page turning and scrolling to third-party reading apps including Kindle, Kobo Books and Play Books.
These improvements build on Version 1.1, which added the Transfer app for fast wireless file sharing, enhanced reading controls with adjustable fonts and layouts, saved Spark summaries and a cleaner bookshelf interface. DuRoBo has also released Version 1.2.1, adding an Invert Scrolling option for the Smart Dial based on user feedback.
