Eve-Tech announces the retail price for Eve V 2 in 1

You may remember that I was doing a lot of work with a company called Eve-Tech at the beginning of the year. This work was based on the Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign of the Eve V 2 in 1 laptop. Although it seems like it has been a very long time, things have been cooking at a good pace in the design headquarters of Eve-Tech in Helsinki, and also the factories in Shenzen.

Unfortunately, things transpired that involved the product being delayed slightly. This delay, however, did allow the boys and girls at Eve-Tech to improve on what was already, in essence, a really good device. After a massive splurge of media interest at CeBIT earlier in the year, it all seemed to go ominously quiet again.

Then we started seeing some videos coming out from the companies founder Konstantinos Karatsevidis about the Eve V production line being kicked into play. As it currently stands, they are about halfway through the first wave of production units for the Indiegogo campaign backers. This means that it is now time to start looking at getting this thing into the retail environment. So without further ado, we have had an announcement of when this is going to happen. More importantly, we now have a price as well.

So let’s get the most important part out of the way when can you buy this long-awaited piece of awesome tech. Well, that day will be the 4th of December at 14:00 UTC +2 which is 2pm in the Queen’s English.

Next up: what the pricing going to be: in a word – awesome.

These prices put it on par with many of the other 2 in 1 options currently on the market, especially when you are looking at the higher end models. It’s undercutting the high-end Surface Pro by a whopping $1200, which is amazing given what you are getting for your money.

Here are the specs that are generic to all the options:

It all comes bundled in this brilliantly packaged device that has been made by the users and not by a design studio, hence the startup screen logo shown here..

If you are wanting to get in on these great 2 in 1’s, then you will need to be quick as these things will no doubt fly off the shelves. You can place your order when it starts going on sale on the 4th by going to this website. If you are planning on buying one, then I would advise that you take the time to setup your account on the site well in advance so that you have not got any potential problems getting in the way of making your purchase.

In the meantime, I would like to show you what Linus Sebastian from Linus Tech Tips fame thought about this device when he got hands-on at CeBIT earlier this year.
