OnePlus Launch Event – What else was released.

So with the Oneplus Event in New Delhi now drawn to a close it is time to have a look at the other announcement from the Event that showcased OnePlus’s big phone news for the coming months and there is plenty here to dive into. So without further ado let’s dig in.

OnePlus Buds Pro 2

OnePlus also took some time at the vent today to discuss their new range of Earbuds in the form of the OnePlus Buds Pro 2. these are the very latest and greatest from the OnePlus Cutting floor. The stand-out feature of these new True Wireless Stereo earbuds has to be the implementation of Spatial Audio into the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 making them fairly unique in the android environment. These are of course designed to work alongside the fabulous OnePlus 11 5G that was also announced at the event(for further details check out this article.

These new Oneplus Buds Pro 2 have been co-developed with Dynaudio to give a truly exceptional audio sound stage for the listener. By utilising two MelodyBoost Dual drivers at 11mm for the Woofer and a 6mm tweeter. These Buds can handle high and low frequencies without breaking a sweat. Alongside this awesome hardware, there are the Dynaudio customized EQs to ensure that your music sounds exactly how it should sound whatever the genre is.

The Buds Pro 2 also features LHDC 4.0 Ultra-HD Bluetooth engine to ensure High-resolution Audio transmission to get as close to a wired connection as possible. But if that is not enough thanks to the Audio ID 2.0 technology the Buds Pro 2 will analyze your ear canal to ensure that the sound is truly enveloping whatever shape ears that you have! This is all pretty much what you would expect but the next bit is where things get more interesting as the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 also have Spatial Audio on board!

In collaboration with Google OnePlus has developed an audio experience that is similar to that of what can be found in a cinema environment. When used with OnePlus 11 5G that has the added benefit of full Spatial Audio Support alongside Dolby Atmos and Dolby head tracking technology you are in for a treat when consuming all forms of media under the Android 13 framework and Multichannel Audio sources like Disney+ and YouTube.

if that wasn’t cool enough Hans Zimmer a Multi Acadamy Award and Grammy Winner composer was drafted in to develop the Sounscape which is a customised equalizer which has fewer low frequencies and a brighter and wider sound field that will allow you to enjoy anything from a full orchestra to the latest Hollywood action blockbuster.

In addition to the great hardware and software implementations above the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 also feature some fantastic AI Assisted functions in particular the Smart ANC experience. Which will allow Active noise cancellation of ambient noise of up to 48db and a 4 khz maximum width. This will allow all but the harshest of noisy environments to wash away to nothing and let you focus on your media as intended. But with a simple gesture on the touch-friendly controls, this can be switched to “transparency Mode” to allow the outside back in when needed.

The OnePlus Buds Pro 2 will support fast charging of the case to allow them to last up to 39 hours for music playback and if that is not enough a quick charge of 10 minutes will open up another 10 hours of listening time. The Buds will come with the option to charge the storage /charger case via USB Type C or via QI wireless charging as well if you fancy going wireless!

In addition to all of the above, they have also been designed to be easy to live with being that the earbuds themselves are rated to IP 55 for water and dust resistance meaning that even the sweatiest of workouts should go uninterrupted. The case is also dust resistant to Ip X4 levels.

The OnePlus Buds Pro 2 will be available from OnePlus’s website on the 16th of February for £179

Next up is ….

OnePlus Pad

I have been excited but the potential for this product being released ever since i saw the first teasers about 2 weeks ago. Now it is finally here and real I am even more excited by it. Details are still a bit slim but what we do know is looking good.

So what have we got

We are looking at an 11.61″ Screen with an industry-first 144hz refresh rate featuring Dolby Vision. It is running the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset, the first mobile chip to sport a Cortex-X2 core clocked at up to 3.05GHz. This a 4nm chipset made using the TSMC N$ production process and it will give a 35% performance advantage and 37% power efficiency over the Dimensity 9100.

The body has been made out of CNC Milled aluminium alloy to shine with unparalleled beauty and texture and features the self-developed Star Orbit engraving. It also has 2.5 D rounded edges to the body with an 88% screen-to-body ratio and a super slim 6.5mm bezel with a cambered frame meaning that it should be comfortable to hold for prolonged periods of time.

This is paired with 12GB of RAM  and RAM-Vita to allow up to 24 separate apps to be open at the same time and give an awesome gaming experience. Powered by a massive 9150mAh battery the OnePlus Pad should keep on going for up to 14.5 hours on a single charge. When it does require recharging that comes from a 67w SUPERVOOC charger which will fully charge the device in 80 minutes.

OnePlus Pad will feature Cellular data sharing to allow it to browse the web by connecting to your Phoens Wifi hotspot automatically without the need for a separate sim card or LTE-enabled device.

It should sound pretty good as well as it will feature OnePlus’s Omni-bearing sound field technology to identify what audio should be directed through which speaker to give a wide and present soundstage.

The OnePlus Pad is not only about the consumption of media but it will also have the OnePlus Stylo and OnePlus Magnetic Keyboard as companion devices to support this as a mobile workhorse.

More details will be coming out about this device soon and I expect that more will be seen of the device at the upcoming MWC event in a few weeks. At this time we have no availability or pricing but I am excited to see more given the way this tablet looks.

OnePlus featuring Keyboard 81 Pro

This one was a bit of a left-field entry that has been rumoured for some time and will be one for Mechanical keyboard fans.

It has actually been something that I have been seeing a lot of talk about within the OnePlus Community for a while now and it turns out that it has been developed along with some of the members of that community. Whilst it is not really something within the scope of this website’s normal coverage I am a bit intrigued by it.

So what have we actually got here then?

We have a CNC-crafted body with an Areolite touch for a premium feel.

The keycaps are formed from Marble-mallow to give a soft bounce for enhanced hand feel and optimal durability. The keys are able to be remapped via open-source firmware such as QMK and VIA allowing the user to set the keyboard up as they wish and the keycaps being removable allows for even further customization.

It also features RGB that can be easily swapped between work and play modes as required. It will support full operability on Windows, macOS and Linux and even has functionality in Android OS.

All of this is kinda par for the course with mechanical keyboards as far as I am aware but what separates this as a OnePlus product is that the ethos behind the Alert Slider functionality that makes OnePlus Smartphones unique in the Android world has been brought to the keyboard in OnePlus’s now unique way. With the OnePlus Red ‘esc’ key design and the rotary knob, performing in the authentic and orthodox OnePlus way. This rotary know can be fully customised to do what you want it to do as well!

The keyboard has been co-created not only with the user in mind but also with the aid of the top keyboard brand Keychron to ensure that it does everything a keyboard should do.

As with the OnePlus Pad, we have not got any further details but we do expect to hear more from the team at Oneplaus in the coming weeks. If however, you are desperate to find out more about the OnePlus Featuring Keyboard 81 keyboard then check out this website for more information.

Last but by now means least we have a bit of a tease for the
