Onyx BOOX announces the Tab Ultra with a 16MP Camera, and two more E Ink Tablets.

Leading producers of devices for reading electronic books, ONYX International company today has introduced 3 products at its global product launch event on October 27: Tab Ultra as a new model equipped with a 16MP camera and optional 2-in-1 Keyboard Cover, Nova Air2 as the upgraded 7.8″ eReader and note-taker, and Leaf2 as their new 7″ eReader with built-in page-turn buttons.

The Tab Ultra is marketed and categorized as an “ePaper tablet PC” that comes in phantom black. Unlike other typical BOOX models, it features the BOOX Super Refresh Technology to provide a smooth refresh experience on the 10.3″ E Ink display powered by a Qualcomm Octa-core CPU and an exclusive GPU. It also has a redesigned user interface more suitable for mobile working compared to BOOX’s other E Ink tablets, with new multi-finger gestures and a Navigation Bar as an alternative navigating method.

For the first time, Tab Ultra is equipped with a 16MP rear camera for built-in document scanning and OCR functions as well as compatibility with third-party photo and scan apps. The magnetic 2-in-1 Keyboard Cover is specifically designed for Tab Ultra as an optional accessory to provide extra protection and productivity when used as an external keyboard connected via pogo pins on the side of the device.

The Nova Air2 is released as BOOX’s new generation 7.8″ eReader and note-taking device and is the successor to the popular Nova Air. It includes Android 11 OS and an upgraded Qualcomm octa-core CPU to offer an improved performance. The all-new Ivory White color is ideal for an elegant carry in-house or outdoors. The included white Pen Plus is the perfect tool for note-taking and sketching either directly in the ebooks or in a notepad of the built-in Notes app.

The built-in page-turn buttons are making a comeback in the Leaf2 7″ eReader. It is available in black and white color versions with different screen types – the black one has a flush screen and the white version has a sunken screen to achieve better display quality. With a capacity of 2GB RAM + 32GB ROM, it has a microSD card slot for memory expansion. Like its predecessor, it has a G-sensor which enables auto rotation to suit how the device is carried.

All these 3 new devices are preloaded with BOOX’s latest Firmware V3.3 with support of nearly all ebook formats and able to install third-party Android apps with the built-in Google Play Store

Tab Ultra has a price tag of $599.99 /£520 in the official BOOX Shop, while Nova Air2 and Leaf2 are respectively priced at $339.99/£290and $199.99/£170.
