ARM sold to Nvidia

Based right here in the UK and licensing their innovations to companies like Huawei, Apple, Samsung and Qualcomm; ARM has now been sold to Nvidia. The deal values ARM at £31.2bn and Nvidia have promised to maintain the ARM brand, employ more staff and keep the business based in the UK.

Some doubt this will remain long-term though, with Brexit uncertainty and Nvidia in the US making GPU’s and CPU’s already. There’s also the continued US Presidential eagerness to remove foreign tech competition.

ARM is currently based in Cambridge and was previously owned by Softbank. Nvidia currently uses ARM technology to create their Tegra CPU’s.
