The Modmo Saigon – New electric bike with a monster range

Up to 124 miles on one charge? Yes, this is the Modmo Saigon. Created by Irishman Jack O’Sullivan, the company has grown significantly of late due to the “secretly electric” bike.

It has a very understated design – simple on the outside and full of tech on the inside. It’s got a handlebar Head Up Display, GPS location tracking, anti-theft geofencing, Bluetooth and smartphone control. You can also slot in modular mounts, link a child seat or baskets.

Powered by a 17.5Ah 36V battery, you can either remove the battery and charge it or charge it whilst it’s on the bike.

For safety there’s intelligent lighting sensors, handlebar indicators plus front and rear lights.

It weighs 14KG and is powered by a 250W motor, there’s also Tektro HD hydraulic brakes and 5 years warranty on the frame and fork.

It’s €2,099 to pre-order one right now (down from €2,799) and you can split it into monthly payments if you want.

Here it is in action…
