Personal improvement. Ring. Now.

It’s been a while since I did this, but here’s a story which wasn’t sent to us via a PR company. This is about a fitness tracker, but it’s not a watch and it doesn’t involve a strap.

This is a ring. Just a ring.

First up, yes, I must confess that these things are expensive. Think £300+ for a Smart Ring in either black or silver, but they are being used by some very important, famous health-conscious people at the moment.

Once you’ve bought one, it’s just a matter of whacking it on your finger. This is packed with sensors on the inside – infrared LEDs, a 3D accelerator, gyroscope and a body temperature sensor. This all means that it can see hwo well you’re sleeping, what your blood volume is and the amplitude and intensity of your body movement. Sleep quality measurements, REM sleep, trends, resting heart rate, heart rate variability, respiratory rate, temperature trends, goals, calories and much more. This is fully featured.

It’s always on, tracking your activity, and the people behind this have had the product tested in a clinical setting for accuracy.

The accompanying app is available on Google Play and the Apple Store. The Ring has a 1 week battery life with fast, wireless charging and it’s water resistant up to 100 metres.
