Today we have a new smartwatch to play with. It is the newest Ticwatch S2 from Mobvoi. Yes, I know the watch has been available for a little while already, but up until now, it has only been available in black. We have now got hold of the Glacier White version which was released a few days ago.
So what is it, and what makes it different from any other watches out there on the market? Well, for starters it is running off the back of the newest Qualcomm chipset designed for wearable devices in the form of the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100. This is a powerful chipset that will not only allow for much faster user experience, but it will also allow for improved battery life by up to 30%. The watch should now be good for nearly two days of usage of a single charge with all the features activated.
What features do I mean – well I am of course talking about the fitness tracking capabilities that are offered up by Google Fit’s health suite. This, in turn, is also supported by the Ticmotion “invisible AI” algorithms to accurately identify your workouts with minimal user input.
Other things that make this watch stand out apart from the stunning all-white colour is the fact that this watch is certified to be waterproof to 5 ATM, which will make it perfect for outdoor enthusiasts and make the watch capable of using for SWOLF tracking. If you are unfamiliar with the term SWOLF, it means that you can use the watch to track your swimming performance metrics such as lap times, speed and stroke count.
In addition to this, the watch will also be able to monitor all your other fitness activities without opening any dedicated apps through the AI that I previously mentioned. The one feature that is not present and working at the moment however, is sleep tracking. Fear not, that has been promised to be coming soon. The watch is available now from Amazon and also the Mobvoi website.
