New EE Smart Plans launched. Here’s the deets!

Say hello to the new EE Smart Plans. They’re a new range of packages which are both flexible and personal. You can choose from swappable benefits, including the EE Video Pass, EE Music Pass, access to the BT Sport app and Extended roaming.

Don’t know what the EE Video and Music Pass business is all about?

Well, the EE Video Data Pass means you can stream content from Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, BT Sport, MTV Play and TV Player without it impacting your data allowance. Likewise, the EE Music Pass means you can listen to tunes from Apple Music, Deezer or Tidal without using any of your data package. These can be swapped as you see fit either online or via the My EE app.

Now, as you can see, there’s a few services missing here (Spotify, BBC iPlayer, YouTube etc) the official EE webpages are being updated all the time, so look here for the Video Pass details and here for the Music Data Pass. Let’s hope that more will be added.

Other additions include a handset lifetime guarantee and annual device and account MOT. All Smart Plan customers can “Upgrade Anytime” to the very latest smartphones without having to wait until the end of their contract, similar to the O2 Refresh plans.

EE Smart Plans have data allowances of up to 100GB per month, with unlimited UK calls and texts. If you’re not into music or video, you can get access to the BT Sport App for on-demand and live sport such as the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, Gallagher Premiership Rugby, UFC and more. There’s also a “Roam Further Pass” which lets you use your UK allowances in the USA, Canada, Mexico, Australia and New Zealand

In addition, EE is also adding more Essential Plans. Head to ee.co.uk/paymonthly for all the details.
