Another look at the Huawei P20


Yes, the P20. Sure, I know that the P30 and the P30 Pro are the new kids on the block, but let’s not forget just how good the P20 is. Dan reviewed it last year and was mightily impressed, however now you’re going to see it get a bit cheaper as the new P30 series gets all the limelight.

The P20 is now available for less than £400 – even cheaper on eBay or via refurb outlets. You can also get it on Vodafone for £34 per month with just £9 upfront. That’ll get you 5GB of data plus unlimited minutes and unlimited texts.

It has a bright, vivid 5.8″ Full HD 1080 x 2244 screen which is at 428 PPI. It’s powered by a Huawei Kirin 970 CPU (which has 4 Cortex 2.36 GHz and 4 Cortex 1.8 GHz cores and runs Android 8.1. There’s 4GB of RAM, 128GB of storage to play with and GPS, WiFi, NFC, USB-C and a 3400 mAh battery.

Around back, the Leica magic in the shape of a 12 megapixel RGB camera, a 20 megapixel monochrome unit and laser focus, deep focus, phase focus plus contrast focus. Up front is a 24 megapixel camera for your selfie shots.
