Zapp i300 electric scooter to be unveiled later this month

So, this is a British company and they’ve nudged me quite a few times. They’re called Zapp and they’re working to launch the UK’s first electric scooter. We’ve managed to get a teaser video to show you a sneak peek…

They tell me that the i300 “re-thinks how a scooter should look and ride” and the whole design is based on a lightweight aluminium exoskeleton which is motorsport-inspired. You can get a rough idea on the video above or on their site. It is powered by a super-compact removable battery pack so you can slot it in and out easily, plus it has a high performance magnet electric motor.

The company tell me that there’s “Superbike-level componentry” and you can make the bike your own via a big range of options and accessories.

If you want to know more, there’s not long to wait – they’ll tell us more in a couple of weeks. You can register your interest on ZappScooter.com. They promise me it’ll be sporty, with outstanding handling, torque and powers, whilst still being convenient and eco-friendly.

More as we get it later in the month…
