Give your phone the finger

I’ve absolutely no idea why you’d want this. I’m perhaps even struggling to describe the thing. It’s, umm.. it’s a robotic finger that you can attach to your phone. Once you’ve attached it then… errr…

Well, the people behind this, the MobiLimb, tell me that it..

…aims (to overcome) human body limitations by using robotic devices. Our approach aims at overcoming mobile device limitations (static, passive, motionless) by using a robotic limb.

Riiiiiiiiiggggghhhttt… Oh! I know! How about a look at the demonstration video. That would definitely explain things…

Hmmm… well OK, I’m still none the wiser. It’s basically a finger that you can wiggle about a bit and it’ll do strange things like maybe pointing the way when you’re walking or something. It’ll act as a stand, and can hold onto you thanks to the 3D printed plastic structure and built-in servo motors.

The whole idea includes controllers and API’s – it’s a device that’ll let you experiment and create. Get more information on it on their website.

Just don’t stick this in your back pocket. Ouch…
