The handset will be available exclusively from Carphone Warehouse for £229.99. This 2018 model adds fast charging and Zeiss cameras. It’s also 60% faster than its predecessor.
Headline specs include a 5.5″ 1080 x 1920 pixels 16:9 screen, Android 8.0 (Oreo), a Qualcomm SDM630 Snapdragon Octa-core 2.2 GHz 630 CPU, a 16 megapixel shooter at the back (with those Carl Zeiss optics, dual-LED dual-tone flash) and an 8 megapixel front selfie camera. There’s also a 3.5mm audio port, WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC, FM radio and USB-C charging. They’ve also added Nokia spatial audio.
The phone sits in a solid block of aluminium and “is durable enough to take life’s everyday knocks”. The 3000mAh battery can be charged to 50% in 30 minutes. This model should have 32GB of storage, a microSD slot and 3GB RAM.
Sarah Edge, UK and Ireland general manager of HMD Global, tells us..
Our phones do so much these days that having a device that is built to last is something that is important to many people in the UK. The original Nokia 6 was praised for its durability so that is something we’ve built on with its successor. We’ve also made it 60% faster and added some great new features like USB-type C fast charging and our unique Dual-Sight technology, enhanced with ZEISS optics.
The previous Nokia 6 delivered exceptional value for money and it was Carphone Warehouse’s most successful exclusive smartphone last year. We didn’t want our fans to have to pay more for the new Nokia 6 so even though you’ll get a much improved smartphone, it’ll still cost the same as before.
