Pursuit of Burdenless Speed – OnePlus 6

Did you ‘6et Ready’? If you have been under a rock recently, OnePlus have started their teaser campaign for the upcoming flagship phone – OnePlus 6. The new handset was previously rumoured to be quite a beast using the new SnapDragon 845 processor and in three variations 64GB, 128GB and 256GB, however, not everything has been confirmed yet.

Pete Lau, the CEO of OnePlus posted on the forums with the title of ‘Our Pursuit of Burdenless Speed’ which focuses on the speed of the new phone and did confirm some rumours. The interesting part of the post was:

To create this higher standard, we start with the best hardware: the
Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 845 paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Choosing the best hardware is the easy part, the real challenge is in making the best hardware perform in ways that adds value to the experience of the user.

Within the OnePlus R&D team, we have a specialized team called Team FSE (Fast, Stable, Efficient). Their focus is solely on maximizing the power of our flagship devices.

In terms of possible release dates, it has been guessed we are looking at June as the coming did say Q2 2018 and the OnePlus 5 was launched in June 2017. The price rumours have been pretty wide, but we would guess around £450 to £500 mark which is still massively cheaper than Samsung S9 and iPhone X.
