We were big fans of the MSQRD app when it first came out. It’s quite a fun little gadget which, with the aid of your phone camera, puts masks and hats on your face via augmented reality cleverness.
Now there’s another one to add to the collection, it’s FaceApp (Android) (iPhone) which uses special effects to broaden your smile, make yourself younger, older or more attractive. You can even change your gender.
It seems to be getting hyped quite a bit and, thanks to someone taking it into a gallery and hilariously changing the faces on the paintings, it’s getting a lot of interest. This might helps tweak a few photos and add a few smiles on those shots where people didn’t grin on queue, but other than that I think it’s a bit of fun.
