Lenovo Yoga A12 announced officially.

Those of you who have been following my Yoga Book reviews may be interested in learning that it’s a product line that Lenovo are continuing to work on. This was confirmed with the announcement of the new Lenovo Yoga A12.

This is essentially an entry level Yoga Book minus the sexy “Watchband Hinge” and the “CreatePad” Wacom-powered digitiser. So why have they brought this out and who will it be useful for? Well, the first clue is that this runs Android 6.01 out of the box, albeit with the same customizations that can be found on the smaller Yoga Book. This lets you be productive whilst still having a great multimedia experience. The device is beautifully thin and still has the very usable “Halo keyboard”.

The screen resolution has taken a bit of a drop unfortunately – this is now a 1280 x 720 panel. Alongside the resolution drop, the memory and storage have also both dropped to 2GB and 32GB respectively. These drops do mean that the asking price is $299 in the USA with pricing still to be confirmed for the UK market.

If you had been looking for a new Android tablet and are wanting something to actually get some work done with, this may be an option. I have certainly been impressed with the Yoga Book. There is also some chatter that this will be released as a Chrome OS version as well slightly later on. If this were to happen the that would.make for a very compelling proposal.
