It’s Christmas! We road test SwiftGift

I tend to leave the whole present-buying stuff a little late, so shopping online is definitely my preferred way of buying gifts. However, if you’ve forgotten the address of the person you’re buying for, you don’t really know where they’re going to be, or you’ve plain just forgotten a birthday or important event, give SwiftGift a spin. It’s only available for iOS devices right now, but it’s crazy easy to use.

How easy? Well, you just grab the app, choose the phone number of the person you’re buying for from your contacts list, choose a gift; then SwiftGift will do the rest. The company will send a text to the recipient, let them choose their preferred delivery address, and the present will be sent directly to them. You can make your gift individual with a picture and personalised message too.

Next day delivery is available on some gifts and there’s a big selection to choose from as they basically they work with over 1,400 retailers, from John Lewis to Swarovski Crystal. All you need is the recipient’s mobile phone number.

The recipient has 7 days to respond to the text, which includes a link to a secure area where the address details can be entered. You will only have your card authorised – not charged – until the recipient accepts the gift.

Good huh? Here’s a look at it…
