EE releases new version of their in-car WiFi solution

In May EE announced a new in-car WiFi solution called Buzzard. Plop it into your cigarette lighter and it’ll beam out a WiFi hotspot for the kids to connect their tablets / phones / iPods to in the back of the car on a long journey.

Now EE have announced the second version, unsurprisingly called the Buzzard 2. It’ll connect over 4G and you can get one for just £79.99 on pay as you go. Plus, if you buy one before January 31st you’ll get 100MB data free every month for nothing. If you want to go contract then it’s available from just £10 per month on the 4GEE mobile broadband plans. You get it free on plans costing over £15 per month and that’ll get you 3GB of data to play with.

The Buzzard 2 has an extra USB socket as a pass-thru, so you can still plug in your phone or tablet to charge it and the unit will light up to let you know when it’s ready to use.
