HTC announce the 64 bit Desire 510

The budget phone market is a fiercely fought market these days, with companies like Motorola, Nokia, LG, ZTE, Huawei, Samsung and of course HTC battling it out. As Peter Chou says:

Owning the latest and greatest technology shouldn’t be reserved for those with the highest budgets.

The latest offering from HTC has something a bit unique, it’s 64 bit, not that spec point is relevant in the slightest to the man on the street. Spec wise it’s pretty much mid range, the addition of 4G, a removable battery and a Micro SD slot will benefit it sales wise.

– 8GB of on-board memory.
– 1GB RAM.
– MicroSD™ card slot.

As regards price and availability HTC have said the following.

The new HTC Desire 510 will be available with mobile operators and major retailers in London from September for around £149 SIM free.

It’s nice to see HTC plodding on and releasing phones. Especially phones with 64 bit processors. Whether it will become as the Moto G is another question, we’ll just have to wait and see.
