Huawei TalkBand B1 puts an interesting spin wearable tech

The Huawei TalkBand B1 got a showing during Mobile World Congress this year.

It’s both thin and light with a 0.3mm-thick OLED screen on top which lets you keep in touch with “your daily life”. A quick 2-hour charge will keep the device going for an impressive 6 days and, according to the PR people, the “bendable curve design fits your wrist like a second skin”.

It’ll monitor your sleep, track your exercise and calories burned plus, when you want to make a phone call, you just pop the top off and it becomes your Bluetooth earpiece. The device is IP57 water and dust resistant meaning you can stick it in a metre of water for up to 30 minutes.

If you want one, places like Expansys are kicking them out for £99.99 and Mobile Fun are doing them for a penny more.

If you want to see it in action, and believe me this is an experience, check out their promotional video below. It features Max who, for reasons unknown, wound me up pretty quickly.

Here’s a big gallery of the smartband..
