Everyone loves a bargain, particularly if there’s a shiny new gadget involved. Announced 10 months ago at last year’s Google I/O conference, the Nexus 7 received positive reviews. With this year’s I/O conference to be held at the end of June, speculation is rife that a new Nexus tablet will be unveiled.
The cynics amongst us, myself included, rather suspect that the deal announced on the current Nexus 7 is a means to tempt people to buy the current model before the new one is revealed. That said, the deal is mighty tempting: if you purchase a new 16GB Nexus 7 you can scan and upload your receipt to the Asus Promotions website and within 30 days they will credit your Google Play account with £50. Buyers beware: the deal is only valid from 5 May to 1 June, and you’ll have 30 days after purchase to claim your credit. Hurrah!
