Sony announce the DSC QX-10 and the DSC QX-100 Smart Shots

When I first saw some odd looking clip on camera lenses for phones I thought it was an elaborate hoax by someone, yeah they sounded cool and I could no doubt think up a scenario where I could use one.

Then came the leaks, we saw image after image for these lenses, then we saw some marketing material and then we saw a nice little video. Over in Berlin at IFA Sony have just announced the two Smart Shots.


The Sony Smart Shots are potentially pretty useful, to keep one in your bag just in case will really revolutionise some people’s world’s.

    How strange, the qx-100 is a big old boy yet only has the equiv of 100mm telephoto, the smaller qx-10 goes up to 250mm! £400 for the qx-100 is pretty much gonna make it dead in the water. You can get a damn good compact for that. £179 for the qx-10 isn’t too bad.
