Chameleon Launcher has been updated for phones

I got an email yesterday that made me a little excited.

A while back I and many others backed Chameleon Launcher on Kickstarter. It gave us an early beta to try on our tablets. I was really impressed at the time but I didn’t stay using it for long, preferring my normal Apex setup.

Then this email yesterday said:

Heads up everyone!

If you haven’t heard yet, we have released Chameleon 2 Beta onto the Play Store for Kickstarter and Pre-order backers. That’s you guys!

The current release will update with the new version. It is also now able to run on phones with a screen resolution of 720×1280 and up.

So if you are one of the backers then quickly head to the Play Store to try out the new launcher. It retains the same style and mechanics from before but it just feels a lot better on a phone. If you aren’t a backer then no doubt this new beta will roll out to the normal version soon.

Some of the new features are

– Support for Phones!
– Folders & Linked Folders.
– App Launcher Widgets.
– Contextual Dashboards redesigned.
– Performance Improvements.
– Updates to many Chameleon widgets

These days you can also use standard Android widgets within Chameleon Launcher and the new folders are really nice. Take a look at the few screenshots below.
