We’ve all heard of the Microsoft Surface. Our sister site CoolSmartPhone has covered it a fair bit, including this first impressions post by our very own James Pearce who took the plunge and bought one. A report from The Verge today suggests that a smaller, 7 inch Surface could be on the way in the form of the Xbox Surface.
According to the details they have unearthed, this Surface will be produced using top-secret hardware and manufacturing – not exactly the most reliable of details! Other details rumoured in the report also include high-bandwidth RAM and a stripped-down Windows kernel specifically for gaming purposes. If the Xbox Surface does exist then it sounds like it could be a good device – but is there a niche for a small gaming tablet? Let us know in the (new and improved) comments.
