ZTE announce the Grand series for Russia

ZTE have been announcing quite a few phones recently. They haven’t quite grasped the global launch scenario yet though as the latest press release from the shows.

Recently they have released the Grand X and then a short while after that they announced an Intel version called the Grand X IN. They plan to continue this range with further models specifically for Russia.

Quite what makes the Russians so special I’m not sure. But here are the details anyway:

ZTE Grand X V970 is a flagship model powered by a Dual Core 1GHz processor, with Android 4.0 ICS. It has a 4.3-inch QHD (16m colours) display with a resolution of 960×540, a 5 megapixel primary and 0.3 megapixel front camera, and supports Dolby Sound and HD Voice. The size of the device is 127×64.6×9.9 mm, weight 130g.

ZTE Grand X V970 (M) has two SIM-card slots and is powered by a Dual Core 1GHz processor. The device runs on Google Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It has a 4.3-inch QHD (16m colours) display with a 960×540 resolution, 5 megapixel camera, and supports Dolby Sound technology and HD Voice. The device is 128x67x9.9 mm and weighs 138g.

ZTE Grand X LTE (T82) is powered by a Dual Core 1.5GHz processor. Supported by Qualcomm MSM8960 chipset and Google Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, it has a 4.3-inch TFT display (16m colours) with a resolution of QHD960x540 pixels, an 8 megapixel HD camera with built-in flash and the ability to record 1080p video (Full HD). The handset has a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera and is 131x65x11 mm and 151g in weight.

ZTE Grand Era is a super-slim smartphone powered by a Quad Core 1.5GHz processor. The handset, with Google Android 4.0 OS Ice Cream Sandwich, has a 4.5″ touch screen with HD 720p (1280 x 720 pixels) display, an 8-megapixel HD camera with an integrated flash, a 1.3 megapixel front facing camera and 1080p video recording. The handset measures 133x66x8.6 mm and weighs 115g.

ZTE V887 is a dual SIM-card phone, powered by a Dual Core 1HGz processor running Google Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It has a 5.0-inch display (16m colours) with a resolution of WVGA480x800 pixels, 5 megapixel primary and 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera. The size of the device is 148x78x10.5 mm, weight 140g.

ZTE V889M is a super slim smartphone with dual SIM-card slots, powered by a Dual Core 1GHz processor running Google Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It has a 4-inch display (16m colours) with 800×480 resolution and a 5-megapixel camera. The device is 122.5 X63.5×10.5 mm and weighs 130g.

ZTE V880E is a dual SIM-card phone, powered by 1HGz processor, supported by Qualcomm MSM 7227A chipset running Google Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The handset has a 4-inch display (16m colours) with a resolution of 800×480 pixels and a 5 megapixel camera. The device is 122.5 x64.6×11.9 mm. It weighs 130g.

ZTE V790 is a dual SIM-card phone powered by 1HGz processor, supported by Qualcomm MSM 7225A chipset and runs on Google Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The handset is powered by a 1GHZ processor and has a 3.5-inch display (16m colours) with a resolution of 800×480 pixels and a 3.2-megapixel camera. The size of the device is 114x61x12.6 mm and its weight is 120g.

We may never see these devices in the UK, but it is interesting to see what ZTE are capable of making. If you could currently buy the Quad Core equipped Grand Era or the 5.5″ screen equipped ZTE V887 the world would be a happier place. Come on ZTE release these devices over here in the UK.

 ZTE Launches New Grand Series and Dual SIM Card Smartphones in Russia

ZTE Grand Series feature ultra-thin design, Quad Core and Dual Core processing

Full range of Dual SIM card smartphones from 3.5 to 5 inch available in the Russian market 

Moscow, Russia – ZTE Corporation (“ZTE”) (H share stock code: 0763.HK / A share stock code: 000063.SZ), a leading global provider of telecommunications equipment, network solutions and mobile devices, held the Russian launch “Welcome to the Grand World of ZTE smartphones” of its brand new ZTE Grand series and Dual SIM smartphones.

The new ZTE Grand series will be available in Russia from October. The series will include the ZTE Grand X V970 and V970(M) featuring dual core processing and a sleek ultra-thin design. The ZTE Grand X LTE (T82) has a high speed processor and high resolution screen and camera. The ZTE Grand Era is one of the world’s slimmest quad-core, high resolution smartphones.  ZTE Grand Era has already been launched in mainland China while the ZTE Grand X V970 has been released in the UK and Turkey. The ZTE Grand X LTE (T82) has also been launched in Hong Kong.

ZTE will also be providing a full range of Dual-SIM card smartphones in Russia. The ZTE V790 is the first 3.5 inch smartphone in the Russian market to operate Android 4.0 s and the ZTE 889M is one of the few Dual-SIM card, Dual-Core smartphones in Russia with a 4-inch screen. ZTE will also be offering the ZTE V887 5 inch smartphone which is excellent for consumers who prefer the large screen experience.

According to IDC’s Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker report, ZTE shipped eight million smartphones in the second quarter of 2012, up 300 per cent over the same period in 2011. ZTE is one of the top five global smartphone manufacturers and maintained No. 4 ranking for overall handset shipments in the second quarter of 2012.
